Sharmila Katre is an educator, management professional and a highly sought-after consultant in the Clothing and Textile Industry. In her 40-year-long career, she has held many top management positions in various organizations in the industry. Her areas of specialism include Merchandising, Product Development and Sourcing, Management Systems for Garment Production and Textiles as well as Design and Management Higher Education.

She has conducted various workshops, EDPs and seminars both in India and abroad. She has been an active team member for international projects and on-ground research funded by the Overseas Development Agency of the British Government.

She has taught as a senior faculty in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs at National and Private Institutions training management professionals for the Clothing and Textile Industry. She currently works as a consultant in Curriculum Design and Pedagogy and Applied Higher Education with Global University Systems, India.
